HBS does not have a re-applicant essay like other schools. When you re-apply, you submit an entirely fresh application and answer the question they pose. Keep in mind they do look at your previous application, so while the essay should be the same essay, your story should not drastically change either.
Hi Scott, what I am saying is should you use the space for the essay as a space to update them on what's new since your last application (treat it as a reapplicant essay) or treat it as a regular essay and write more broadly about yourself?(tell them what else you want them to know)

There is no re-applicant essay so you should just create a fresh application. No, you should not write specifically what has changed about your profile. (But your experiences can certainly come out in the essay, and they can then see how it is different from last year). You don't specifically say "since I applied last year...."
