Does 2+2 count as having "previously applied to HBS"?

I'm working on my HBS app and am wondering if I must answer yes to he question on the "Application Start Page" of "Have you previously applied to HBS". I applied via 2+2 several years ago and was not admitted - do you all think this counts as having previously applied? Or are they referring specifically to a regular application?

If 2+2 involves an application process sure. If it does not, may be no.
But it is curious, Why don't you ask the admission comittee

Since the 2+2 is an HBS program (and the question asks "Have you previously applied to HBS?" - and not "Have you previously applied to the regular MBA program?"), then you must indicate that you are a re-applicant. I hope this helps.

Thanks - could you help me understand the purpose of this question on the app? What does the school do with this info / what are they seeking to learn? Do they compare my current app and profile to the one I submitted ~5 years ago?

No problem. In addition to collecting data points, they want to see how far along in the application process you've gone through in the past and/or may compare your applications and see the developments in your profile since. As a re-applicant, you may want to address that experience in the optional information section, not as an essay, but as a clarification (if you feel it's necessary).
