According to me, Consulting requires years of Experience in a particular field. Just doing a Masters from a well renonwed University won't land you on your dream job.
BTW in which domain, sector are you planning to consult? Which firms are you targeting? Ask youself some self interrogeting questions.
Also, MBA is the highest and the most precious degree and one should opt for it only after getting ones hands dirty in the Corporate Job Market for quite a good number of years.
A few of my friends, having really good GMAT Score but very less experience(1-2), have passed out from Schulich and other Big Educational Brands in Canada, struggling very hard to their way in the corporate world just because of lack of Ex.
If you want to pursue a degree then go for MIM, which will give you comprehensive knowledge of all management domains. Although, I advise you to follow a specialised defined track rather than general management.
My point is if today i tell you to 'Consult' me on how to build a website, then you should be well versed of all the aspects of building a website from programming to marketing design and consumer experience to cloud storage.
Goodluck
