Q: So I...would like to know what GPA and GMAT scores average students have. There isn't much information on this website or elsewhere.
A: I am not surprised there is not a ton of public information out there about admissions statistics. My guess is the program recruits people from so many different backgrounds who are going into so many disparate fields of study that it might not be useful to have overall admissions numbers. In fact, I did some digging and it looks like that not only are standardized tests optional for some programs but also each programs accepts different types of tests including the LSAT. With so much variety from program to program, it would not make much sense to publish generalized SPS numbers.
Q: Also, what do people at CBS think of SPS? Actually, is it worth going to SPS?
A: It depends on your actual post-graduation goal. If you think that this degree might open up doors in analytics and enterprise risk management, then it might be worth it. Separately, I would not care what CBS students think of SPS. You would be in a separate program. Also, why does that even matter? You are not going to have much overlap with CBS students unless you are involved in some sort of cross-graduate school events or initiatives. If you really want the MBA experience, apply to CBS. If not, SPS could be a nice, albeit different alternative in a very specific field.
