Based on data from the past year, select Yes if the statement can be concluded from the information provided. Otherwise, select No.

YesNo
More revenue from personal training was generated in the Platinum tier than in all other tiers combined.
Revenue from personal training accounted for a greater share of total revenue in the Platinum tier than in the Gold tier.
For the Basic tier last year, on average, one personal training session was purchased for every three members.

More revenue from personal training was generated in the Platinum tier than in all other tiers combined.

Platinum: $140,000

Other tiers: $40,000 (Basic) + $72,000 (Silver) + $80,000 (Gold) = $192,000

$140,000 < $192,000 → Answer: No

Revenue from personal training accounted for a greater share of total revenue in the Platinum tier than in the Gold tier.

Platinum: Training = $140,000, Total = $167,000 → Share ≈ 80%

Gold: Training = $80,000, Total = $110,000 → Share ≈ 70%

Platinum share is higher → Answer: Yes

For the Basic tier last year, on average, one personal training session was purchased for every three members.

Basic tier had 1,500 members and $40,000 in personal training revenue.

Sessions = $40,000 / $80 = 500

1,500 members / 500 sessions = 3 members per session → Answer: Yes

Correct answer:

More revenue from personal training was generated in the Platinum tier than in all other tiers combined. "No"

Revenue from personal training accounted for a greater share of total revenue in the Platinum tier than in the Gold tier. "Yes"

For the Basic tier last year, on average, one personal training session was purchased for every three members. "Yes"

Heyy..

Solution is as below :

Personal training sessions cost $80 per session. Total Cost = Plan Cost + PTS cost

PTS Cost = $80*No. of PTS

NameNo. of Personal Training Sessions (PTS)Basic Plan ($100 per year)Silver Plan ($200 per year & 10% discount on PTS)Golden Plan ($300 per year + 20% discount on PTS & 2 FREE PTS )Platinum Plan ($450 per year + 30% discount on PTS & 5 FREE PTS)
Sally
5
100+80*5 = $500200 + 80*5*90% = $560300+80*3*80%= $492
(5-2 Free PTS = 3)
$450 only
(since 5 PTS is free under this plan)

100+80*20= $1700200+80*20*90%= $1640300+80*18*80%= $1452
(20-2 Free PTS = 18)
450+80*15*70% = $1290
(20-5 Free PTS = 15)
Mindy
10
100+80*10= $900200+80*10*90% = $920300+80*8*80%= $812
(10-2 Free PTS = 8)
450+80*5*70%= $730
(10-5 Free PTS = 5)

In all the 3 cases, Platinum Plan pricing is the lowest.

Hope this helps..
