A regression line summarizes the overall relationship between two variables. If the line slopes upward, the relationship is positive, if it slopes downward, the relationship is negative, and if it is approximately horizontal, there is little or no linear relationship.
For Model B, the regression line slopes downward, meaning that heavier payloads tend to be associated with shorter flight times. Therefore, the relationship between payload and flight time for Model B is negative.
Drop-down 2:
Both regression lines slope downward, but the regression line for Model A is steeper than the regression line for Model B. Therefore, the absolute value of the slope for Model A is larger.
Since both slopes are negative, the steeper line has the more negative, and therefore smaller, slope. Thus, the slope of the regression line for Model A is less than the slope of the regression line for Model B.
For Model B, the relationship between payload and flight time is: Negative
Reasoning: As payload increases along the x-axis, flight time decreases along the y-axis
