Official Explanation
Let x = price of apple = price of pear, and then 2x = price of melon.
Quantity (A) is \(8x + 9x + 3(2x) = 17x + 6x = 23x.\)
(B) is \(7x + 4x + 6(2x) = 11x + 12x = 23x,\) as well.
So the quantities are equal, (C).
Answer: C
Let x = price of apple = price of pear, and then 2x = price of melon.
Quantity (A) is \(8x + 9x + 3(2x) = 17x + 6x = 23x.\)
(B) is \(7x + 4x + 6(2x) = 11x + 12x = 23x,\) as well.
