In Jar X, \(\frac{2}{5}\) of marbles are black, and in Jar Y, \(\frac{5}{9}\) are black, so the probability that both marbles drawn are black is \(\frac{2}{5}*\frac{5}{9}=\frac{10}{45}\) (A).
In Jar X, 3/5 of marbles are white, and in Jar Y, 4/9 are white, so the probability that both marbles drawn are white is \(\frac{3}{5}*\frac{4}{9}=\frac{12}{45}\)(B).
Since \(12 > 10,\) Quantity (B) is greater.
