Compute the area of Rectangle B, by finding length times width, which equals 30 × 48, or 1,440. Similarly, the area of Rectangle A equals 12x. These areas are given as equal, so 12x = 1,440, and dividing by 12 yields x = 120. But be careful. The question asks for the perimeter of Rectangle A, not its length. Perimeter equals 2 × (length + width), which is 2 × (120 + 12), or 2(132) = 264, (D).
