OETest the recipe using the real value for one of the given ingredients to find the limiting factor. For example, given 1 cup of oil, figure out how much vinegar and water you would need.

To use the full 1 cup of oil, you’d need a half-cup of vinegar, but only one-third of a cup of vinegar is available, so vinegar is the limiting factor. Figure out how much dressing can be made using one-third of a cup of vinegar.

A total of 2/3+1/3+1=2 cups of dressing can be made. All of the vinegar will be used, but there will be oil and water left over.
