If point x is inside a circle with center o and radius 2, is point y inside the same circle?
(1) OX =1
(2) XY = 2.5
(1) OX =1
(2) XY = 2.5

(1) Insufficient. No information about Y
(2) Insufficient. Y could be inside or outside, eg if X is on the centre, then Y has to be outside. But X and Y could also be two points on a diameter such that both are inside with XY=2.5
(1+2) Insufficient.
Imagine point Y lying radially outward on the extension of segment OX, it would then lie outside the circle since XY=2.5
But if X & Y are on opposite sides of the centre on a diameter, being 1 and 1.5 away from centre, then both conditions again satisfied but Y is inside the circle
Answer is (e)

Best way to solve this question would be to make a diagram:

You can see that point Y can be outside the circle (Y1) as well as inside the circle (Y2). Answer: E.
