A right polygon is inscribed in a circle. How many sides does the polygon have?
(1) The length of the diagonal of the polygon is equal to the length of the diameter of the circle.
(2) The ratio of area of the polygon to the area of the circle is less than 2/3.

I haven't come across the phrase "right polygon" before; the only thing I can think it could possibly mean is a polygon with all right angles, which automatically means that the shape must be a quadrilateral. However, that would mean that we can answer the question without either of the statements, which never happens on the GMAT.
Are you sure that the question isn't supposed to read "a regular polygon" instead? What's the source?
Even if it's a regular polygon, statement (1) is problematic, since a "diagonal" is defined as the distance between any two vertices of the polygon. Since all regular polygons with more than 4 sides have multiple (i.e. different length) diagonals, it makes no sense to talk about "the length of
the diagonal". So, for (1) to make sense it would have to read "the length of the
longest diagonal of the polygon...".
