If x – y = 4, is x < 2?
(1) x + y > 0 --> as \(y=x-4\) then \(x+(x-4)>0\) --> \(x>2\). Sufficient.
(2) xy < 0 --> as \(y=x-4\) then \(x(x-4)<0\) --> \(0<x<4\). Not sufficient.
Answer: A.
