What is the value of ab + bc ?

Simplifying the question stem, we get b(a+c)
Statement 1: b= a+c, but we don't know the exact values and hence not sufficient.
Statement 2: we still don't know the value of a & c and hence not sufficient.
Combined : now the question stem becomes b^2, given a+c = b from St 1 and we know the value of b from St 2. Sufficient
