(1) w^2 = 16
(2) |w| = -w
(1) w^2 = 16

What is the value of |w| ?
STATEMENT (1)--\(w^2\) = 16
\(w^2\)-16 = 0
(w+4)(w-4)=0
w = 4 ,-4
we are asked about the value of |w|
if w=4 |w| = 4
if w=-4 |w| = 4
hence, SUFFICIENT
STATEMENT (2)-- |w| = -w
here w=0 satisfy the equation
then |w| = 0
w = -1 also satisfies the equation
then |w| = 1
from this satement we cant get the definite value of |w|
hence, INSUFFICIENT
A is the correct answer
STATEMENT (1)--\(w^2\) = 16

(1) w^2 = 16
--> w = ±4
So, |w| = |±4| = 4 always --> Sufficient
(2) |w| = -w
This will ONLY imply that 'w' is a negative value. But numerical value of |w| cannot be found --> Insufficient
IMO Option A
