What is the last digit of the positive integer n ?
(1) The last digit of n equals the last digit of n^2.

Statement 1: The last digit of n equals the last digit of n^2.
There are a very select set of digits whose square also has the same last digit as the digit squared :0,1,5,6.
As we have four options and no other information on how to go forward, this option is not sufficient.
Statement 2 : n is an even number.
There are a lot of even numbers and as no other information is available, unfortunately this option is also not sufficient.
Combining both statements : You are left with two digits 0 and 6
This is also insufficient.
Hence the answer is E.
