If a number is the product of two different primes, so the number is equal to pq where p and q are prime, then that number must have four distinct positive divisors: 1, p, q, and pq. So Statement 1 is sufficient, and Statement 2 is instantly sufficient since with the value of r we can clearly answer the question, so the answer is D.
