What is the area of triangle ABC?
Explanation:
(S1) AB = 15
No extra information about altitude or other side lengths provided.
S1 is insufficient.
(S2) The ratio of the length of the altitude dropped from the vertex C to the length of AB is 5:1
Let Altitude be CD
Then area=1/2(CD*AB)
But value of AB is unknown
Hence S2 also insufficient.
Combining S1 & S2
CD/AB=5 and AB=15
means CD=AB*5=75
Then area=1/2(CD*AB)
Hence C is the correct answer.
