(1) x and y are integers
x = 3; y = 0 --> xy = 0
x = 1; y = 2 --> xy = 2
Hence not sufficient.
(2) x and y are positive
Because we are not given about the nature of x and y, they can take any real values.
x = 2.5; y = 0.5
x = 0.1; y = 2.9
Hence not sufficient.
Combining we get -
x = 1; y = 2 --> xy = 2
IMO C
