What is the remainder when the positive integer z is divided by 3?

(1) z is an even integer.
CASE 1:
If z=4
4/3=Q+R
4=3Q+R
if Q=1
4=3+R
4-3=R
R=1
CASE 2:
If z=6
6/3=Q+R
6=3Q+R
R=0
different values of R so insufficient
(2) z is a multiple of 6.
possible values for z (multiples of 6)= 6,12,18,24,30,36...
checking values of z:
6/3=2 r=0
12/3=4 r=0
18/3=6 r=0
reminder always=0 what means 2 is sufficient so ANSWER B is my choice, please correct me if I'm wrong

Statement 1 tells us we get a remainder of 0 when we divide by 2. There's no relationship between remainders by 2 and remainders by 3, so that won't be sufficient (or you can test examples).
Statement 2 tells us z is a multiple of 6, so z must be a multiple of 3, and thus must give us a remainder of zero when we divide by 3, so the answer is B.
