Statement 1: either \(x=2\) (giving a "no"), or \(x=-2\) (giving a "yes"). No/yes both possible, Not Sufficient.
Statement 2: while \(x\) can take an infinite number of values, none of those values is equal to \(-2\). Thus, the only possible answer here is "no." Sufficient.
