(1) AB = BC = CD = DA
(2) ∠BAD + ∠ADC = 180°

Statement 1
AB = BC = CD = DA
The figure ABCD can be a square or it can be a rhombus. So we can't say for sure that the figure is square.
Eliminate A and D.
Statement 2
(2) ∠BAD + ∠ADC = 180°
The sum of two adjacent angles at the best represents that the line AB and CD are parallel. However, it doesn't tell us if the quadrilateral is a square.
Eliminate B
Combination
The statements combined is also not sufficient as the quadrilateral can be a Rhombus or a Square.
Option E
AB = BC = CD = DA
