Question: Is n an even integer ?
Statement 1
(1) 3n is even
Case 1: n = 2, 3*2 = even. In this case, n is even.
Case 2: n =\( \frac{2}{3}\), 3*\( \frac{2}{3}\) = even. In this case, n is not even.
As we have two contradicting answers to the target question, the statement alone is not sufficient. Eliminate A and D.
Statement 2
(2) 5n is even
Case 1: n = 2, 5*2 = even. In this case, n is even.
Case 2: n =\( \frac{2}{5}\), 5*\( \frac{2}{5}\) = even. In this case, n is not even.
As we have two contradicting answers to the target question, the statement alone is not sufficient. Eliminate B.
Combined
The statements combined tell us that n is an integer and that n is even. Hence, the statements combined help answer the question.

Let's just say:
3n=2m1----------------------(1)
so n= (2m1)/3 => n can be anything => 1 isn't sufficient
5n=2m2---------------------(2)
so n= (2m1)/5 => n can be anything => 2 isn't sufficient
Now, Let's combine condition 1 and 2
Taking ratio from Eqn (1) and (2)
(m1/m2) = (3/5)----------(3) => m1= 3m and m2= 5m, where m is an integer
Multiplying Eqn 1 and 2:
n2= (4m1m2)/15--------(4)
put value of m1 and m2 from Eqn (3) in Eqn (4)
we get: n= 2m=> n will be an even integer.
Hence option C
