(1) x + y = - 10
We have no information about y, thus this alone is insufficient.
(2) x - y < - 10
We have no information about y, thus this alone is insufficient.
(1)+(2) Substituting y = -10 - x in the equation x - y < -10, we get x - (-10 - x) < -10, which simplifies to x < -10. Hence, x is not greater than 0. This is sufficient.
Answer: C.
