Hi GMAT members,
Its been almost one year I am introduced to the GMATClub. Love it! I have given GMAT once in Jan 2010, and working on a second one in Feb 2011. Studying for GMAT over 1.5 years now.
About me: weirdo, greenbee, love books, and believe in beauty with brains. GMAT has been a struggle for me, esp Quant...you read it right Quant ! Verbal is decent.
All of us out on this club or any other clubs slog our a** to get the score of our dream; few cross the 700 barrier.
We put in hours over the week, after 8-10 hours of office. Hours on the weekend, missing our favorite shows and/or Sunday NFL games (Brett Favre, love ya!).
Seclude oneself, sacrifice fun times with family and friends. Eat less so that we don't sleep because of the carbs (the day I eat rice, I can't keep my eyes open). Try to read during office hours, even if your manager and coworkers are..what the hell is he/she doing !!!!!! No shopping, no cleaning, no vacation, no holidays, ...everything made to a stop.
Sacrifice sacrifice sacrifice and sacrifice....unlimited. Some students make it sound like a cakewalk; they cross the 650 barrier easily vs. some struggle to cross the 500/600 barrier.
I agree, all this to get into top 10 B-schools, hey but are you looking for anything else out of this long term commitment and struggle????
I am writing a blog and would like to know if anyone else in this GMAT world, is looking for anything more out of GMAT other than just the given; admit into B-school; career change; equity analyst/IB/strategic mgmt/finance.
If you could take a minute and just answer in few words will be greatly thanked and appreciated.
- Yes - I am taking GMAT just to get into business school
- No - I am looking for more out of GMAT, and that is.......
Of course after a few posts I will tell you guys why I raised this question.
