So, starting 23rd September, cost of GMAT exam will be $250. Should I register now for some date and reschedule it later according to my preparation level? Will rescheduling the exam be free as it is today?
Initially, I thought of taking the exam on 30th September, but I am not performing well in my mocks and hence need more time for preparation.
Edit: I have contacted GMAC regarding this, and the answer is - If you schedule an appointment anytime now before September 23, 2020, and for a date later than September 23, 2020, you can reschedule the appointment at least one full business day (24 hours) before the appointment via the website or the call center. There is $25 rescheduling fee.
Guess, if you are thinking to re-schedule it at least once, even then it makes sense to schedule now for somewhere in Dec or next year, and reschedule it to date whenever you are ready, still you can save $25 lol.

Hi. Good strategy. You may need to check the fAQ on mba.com about reschedule fees. (I have not done that yet.) My concern is that they may still apply after 23rd of September unless GMAC’s has specifically said they apply only to tests booked after the 23rd. Which frankly is logical to have them only apply after the 23rd. But there is logic logic and then there is GMAC.
If you can change it for free, it makes sense to book it now.

No Buddy That's a misconception. You are only allowed to give exam at 200$or reschedule it for free before 23 september. If you book your slot after 23rd September, there will be rescheduling fees and cancellation fees charged on the exam on regarding the respective operations(Rescheduling and Cancellation). I had the same misconception so I dropped GMAC a mail. They Clearly stated, all exams booked after 23rd september will be considered in the new changed online exam pattern even if you schedule your exam in the very next moment. So, I will suggest you to think clearly when you want to appear in order to avoid rescheduling or give it in next 72 hours and so before 23 september
