Why should we study GMAT and TOEFL?
What are the motivations?
Why I am saying so:
My GMAT score is 570, and I have been accepted in a US university. I got my I-20, which has mentioned scholarship info. My TOEFL IBT score is 84. I faced F1 VISA interview. Without any valid reason my F1 VISA has been rejected.
Now, can any one answer why we should spend money, energy, and time for GMAT and TOEFL?

TOEFL:
It is necessary for international student to understand the english language as everything you will be doing in school will be in english. The school must see if you are able to comprehend english in order to perform well in a program (MBA or others).
GMAT:
Used to assess both quantitative and verbal skill levels of people who come from different backgrounds. For instance, if someone graduates with a Political science degree and another person with a math degree, how is it possible to compare these 2 candidates based solely on their degrees? It would be a difficult task since these degrees differ dramatically. However, since the GMAT is a standardized test, it helps school assess students who apply to B-school on the same basis. It goes without saying, however, that other factors come into consideraiton when applying to B-school.

I understand you're frustrated that your VISA was not approved, but that has nothing to do with the GMAT or TOEFL
