Hello, I am here to find inspiration. I took it the first time and I got 400 I thought I was terrible then "studied" and took it again and got 350. I am even ashame for writing this here after reading some of the messages. This is my reality, but I want to take it again, I am taking the Kaplan course, and finding it really difficult to concentrate, I want to believe that I will be able to score around the 600's. Is there anyone around here with a similar experience that could give me some advice or hope? Thanks.

Take the Kaplan course and make sure you start from scratch. What did you use for your studies? I am no expert, but for sure you have to stop taking the test until you start getting at least a 550 on prep and paper tests. I mean it, do not attempt the exam until you get many pratice tests under your belt and perform well on them. Also, try to participate on these boards from time-to-time. This may be a long battle, so be prepared.

Anyone would like to pitch in? It's easy to congratulate those who do well. Let's try to be more constructive toward those who have the nerves to post scores like these.

Good point Sastal. I suggest strolling around the website to benefit from the experience of other candidates who had some intitial difficulties with the test. There is nothing shameful about having low initial scores- after all, candidates are encouraged by major MBA programs to repeat the exam if they score below their potential on the first administration.

Thank you guys. I feel better now. Thanks for the advice, I will take the test on August.

Firts time I studied by myself for three weeks. The second time I took the kaplan course but did not practice enough because I had to travel for work. Anyway I could use many excuses but everything comes to PRACTICE. I think this forum is a great tool and I have been reading some of the posts. I feel confident after reading your messages, it is nice to know that I am not alone. This may be the first part of a succesful gmat story. Thank you again.
