Hi,
I had scheduled my gmat exam today at 1 pm IST. Everything was going fine until when i came back from my 8 min break to start my verbal section. i came back from my break 2 mins early so that i do not miss any time allotted for the verbal section but when the person in charge was entering the password the screen was stuck and remained stuck for some time and when the screen resumed i had already missed around 40 seconds. Missed time was not so important but In that time i panicked.i was totally disturbed and distracted for my verbal section, ended up with q49 v 28
I had informed this incident to person in charge and they have assured me that they would report the incident.
what should i do ? i am thinking of writing a mail to them but do you think they would accept and give a retake option ?

It is a tough call. 40 seconds is not much time in the grand scheme, however, starting knowing you are disadvantaged can have a substantial implication. You can try to reach out to OfficialGMAT here on the site and see what Jeremy can recommend you.
P.S. I have heard of people getting a $50 voucher :-/

Has there been any resolution to your case?
I agree that starting off the section "behind schedule" was probably un-nerving, and could very easily have thrown off your performance a bit. For comparison purposes, I'm curious about a couple of things:
1) How was your pacing the Verbal section on Test Day? Did you finish early, on time or did you have to rush to finish?
2) How were you scoring on your practice CATs?
