There are many benefits to timing your practice, including:
I gave another try after 700 (Q49, V 36, AWA 6). I increased the Q to 51 that was great but my verbal fell to 33 even though I was more confident of my answers this time than before.
Anyway I will just take what I got.
Do many schools take best of Q and V then I would have 51 Q and 36 V (I know Yale does)
Many Quant focused schools may value Quant more also so retake was not a complete disaster
I feel your pain. I am in the opposite boat. I just finished the exam this morning. First was Q41V42 and this was Q36V46. And I really concentrated on the quant as far as studying. I must have missed a few early and never got to the harder questions that I am actually better at...
Did you use the mgmat SC book? How about Kaplan 800? I thought both were quite helpful. I was actually surprised I only scoreed 46 in verbal. Then again I was more surprised(and pissed) about the 36 in math. On saturday I had 47 on the second gmat prep. How did I lose 11 points in one week?
Good luck
