There are many benefits to timing your practice, including:
took my first Manhattan CAT today (Q part only). Wow, its a tad bit harder than what I am used to. I only got a 44, which is 3-4 points off of what I've gotten on Powerprep, GMATPrep, and ARCO CATs. Hope today was an off day as my exam is next Wednesday!
don't worry too much about MGMAT Quant. The two or three times I took it, I got Q47 or something every time. All my other CATs (PR, PowerPrep, GMATPrep) and the real thing, I got Q49 or higher.
MGMAT Quant is tough but you learn a lot from it. GMAT Quant felt like kid's play after MGMAT. Just add 2-4 pts to your Q score and that should be what you get on the real GMAT or GMATPrep.
Yes MGMAT CAT is to much brain consuming. It's very hard and some questions are really difficult to crak in couple of minutes.
But the soring definitely seems to be linient. So i believe this evens the things. Anyway, MGMAT is a good practice CAT and they give you some wonderful reports later.
In June I took the MGMAT CAT#1 and get 40Q/51V. Been studying since and took another over the weekend (Sep 2nd): 40Q/31V. No idea what's going on here.
