So if you read my previous posts, you'll see that I scored a 400 on the gmat (M 19, V 26). So I went to NYU and took an algebra class to brush up on any areas I was unfamiliar with. Took the final last week and got a perfect score, all 25 questions right. And as a matter of fact, according to the professor, I was the only one to do that! So I guess Im not that dumb after all and hopefully I can break 600 soon enough

The gmat does not test for intelligence, it tests for familiarity and repetition. If it is really a test for intelligence, you would not need to study for it.
Of course you will need to have a minimal level of intelligence, but you don't need an iq of at least 135 to score in the 780-800 level.

I dont fully agree. I mean you can be familiar with most concepts on the test, but it takes creativity and ingenuity to apply it to problems. So I do think being smart is important for this test.
