Hi Everyone,
I just took my GMAT today and got a 690. I want to break at least 700 and get around 710-730. I did extremely well on the verbal but my Quant sucks! If my Quant was on par with my math, I would be in the 740-750 range... Math has always been my weak point... I feel like my nerves got the best of me today as I spent too much time on simple problems that would normally take me 30 seconds to solve when studying. I think it's very much a confidence issue as well.
I'm already planning on retaking the exam but wanted some feedback from you guys as to when would be the best time for me to take it; early enough so that I do not get rusty and later enough so that I have additional time to brush up on some concepts. Any thoughts?
Also, I prepared using the official GMAT and Kaplan review materials. Have any of you found other sources to be better? I feel like Kaplan's materials didn't quite prepare me well enough for the types of math problems I encountered today.

Unless you can make strong gains in quant in practice, I would not retake. There is no discernible difference between a 690 and a 710, and the only way you're going to get to 730 is to rock the quant.
You post was a little confusing...you mentioned quant skills not being on par with your math skills?? Do you mean you generally have solid math skills, but GMAT quant tripped you up?
It might be worth getting a tutor for a few hours to work with you just on quant. But don't schedule a retake until 1) you're sure you really NEED a 730 to be competitive at the specific schools you're applying to, and 2) you've conquered this problem. Otherwise there's no point.
