How much harder is Verbal in the real test? I've read that Quant is slightly harder, so I was wondering about Verbal.

I believe the OG is actual GMAT questions that have been "retired". It makes sense then that they should be very similar in difficulty. If the questions used are harder now, that would explain the difference.

Doesn't GMAC still write the test even though there has been a change in test administrators?
