Took my gmat a last week and got a dismal 600! (Q-42;v-31) :cry: .My initial thought was to retake the exam.I have been reading admission requirements at the college's website and found that range was from 650-750+.Iam not sure if it is for ppl who dont have a wk exp or for who have a wk exp.
I will have a wk exp of 5+yrs till aug'09. Does a score of 600 still suffice?What are the chances of being considered for interview given that i am looking at applying to Sloan,Kellogg and other top notch schools.

Please advice.!

You def have to retake. Getting into those schools will be nearly impossible with a 600. Even if the rest of your profile is top notch, it will still be like playing the lottery.

The chances are pretty slim to get an admission at top 15 school with a 600 score in GMAT. Do not get me wrong. I will suggest to retake the GMAT again but with more practice. And keep in the mind to score around 690+ . Apart from that you need to write one good essay. Still the chances are 50-50 as getting the admission in those schools is highly competitive.

Yes, you have to retake the exam. That score range of 650-750 is based on all applicants. And the average applicant has 4-5 yrs of experience. To be competitive, you need to be in the 700s.
