I am applying to two schools in the fall UNM - Albuquerque and OU - Norman. Both schools will take a 500 score on the GMAT however a 600 is recommended. I have purchased the KAPLAN 800, and the Official Guide. I plan to take the test by February 2009. How hard is it to score a 600? what percentage of questions would you get right to achieve this score? I was just looking for some feedback from those that know.

It is very hard to say. It depends on your ability. To evaluate your most likely score I will suggest you go to GMAC.com website, register and download GMATprep software (which is free). There are two CAT tests. Just give the first one and see where you stand. Most people say the GMATprep is the most accurate indicator of your score compared to other softwares. Also accordingly you will know in which section you are weak so that you can focus on that area and boost your score.

The free practice test at Manhattan GMAT is also great for diagnostic purposes, because the evaluation report breaks down right & wrong answers by topic and difficulty.
