I studied for the test using Princeton Review materials and a short course before. Clearly, it did not work out. I then went back and decided to study with a friend that got an 790 on the test. Studying with a smart friend is cheaper and got me a higher score then taking a course with Princeton Review.

Congratulations!
I plan to retake GMAT after scoring 560 :(

Could you elaborate how to greatly improve the score?

Fantastic Job - thats a huge increase. I'm actually going to take the gmat again because the first time through wasn't so great. I am scheduled for April 24 and any helpful advice would definitely be appreciated!!

Once you get your basics down, take as many practice tests as possible.

I used the OG as my starting place. I used MGmat Sentence Correction. Also, I used the Kaplan books because they came with a lot of practice tests. I reviewed all my tests and tried understanding what I did incorrectly. If I got one type of problem wrong, I would do as many of the problem I could find until I got it write. I still think I could have done better on my math. I am thinking of taking it one more time to attempt for a perfect q score.

Hi,

I want to retake the GMAT exam and I want to give it again in Oct'16,but I need a study plan which I need help with.I have already taken coaching earlier when I gave it the first time,so financially it is not viable for me to spend again for another course but what I need help with is a study plan that will help me improve and achieve my target score.Any insight,tips or advise?

To start, it would probably be a good idea for you to start your own 'thread', instead of continuing on in this one. Before I can offer you the specific advice that you're looking for, it would help if you could provide a bit more information on how you've been studying and your goals:

1) How long have you studied?
2) What materials have you used?
3) How many times have you taken the Official GMAT? And how did you score on each attempt (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores)?

4) What is your goal score?
5) Do you have an exact Test Date scheduled yet?
6) When are you planning to apply to Business School?
