What are the areas to focus, if 600+ (not 700) is a target score....?

What are the Quant topics to be focused ?

I think that the GMAT is more about understanding basic concepts and being able to work with them.

you need to be prepared for "everything" on the GMAT. You probably need to get some "700+" questions right to get a 600+ score since the more difficult questions you get right the higher your score is. With 2 GMAT under my belt i can say that i saw maybe up to 3 probability/combination questions - those are considered "700+" questions but i would not be surprised if you see a mid ranged simple probability question though. Just study everything- there's no guarantee what you will see on the exam and really no way to tell if a question is at a very high level or not (unless you are a veteran).

There are not shortcuts unfortunately, just like there are no 500, 600 and 700 level books.
