I know you should never inflate your salary on the application. However there is a bit of an ambiguity on my salary as I'm currently working in a 3rd world country where I am entitled to a 50% tax-protected premium on top of my base pay. On a pre-tax / gross basis it will amount to a +70% increase.
Seeing that there is a large gap between my salaries before and after I started working overseas, even though I am not technically lying, I wonder if adcoms will actually believe the numbers. Should I just list my salary without the location premium?
