Hi,
Planning to apply for Canadian MBA schools, recently found out they required Salary information.
I am self-employed, and don't necessarily have a salary, rather yearly earnings. How accurate such information should be? I think its confidential information, but how does having not so high salary really affect the application ?
Do Canadian MBA schools actually do background check on your earnings ?
Canadian members please share your experience.

Not strictly canadian experience but most schools ask for salary information on their forms - I don't think any of them are really using it in the admissions decision although it may provide a check if they question the authenticity of your statements on seniority etc in a firm etc. It would generally be used more for their marketing materials on average incoming mba salary etc - salary increase of pre-mba to post-mba etc.
It doesn't need to be accurate - I would round up to nearest 5k - and take an average of what you actual earnings really are year on year.
