Hi all,
I just took the GMAT, and I hope that this debrief can be useful to other non-traditional applicants like me. I scored a 710 (Q45, V42) with only 2-3 weeks of studying, and with a lot of help from this forum. Accordingly, I want to express my gratitude to all those who have posted so that others like me can observe, learn, and continue to browse obsessively as the time to take the GMAT approaches.
I am only a senior in college and so I realize that it is a long shot for me to be admitted to an MBA program without work experience. I hope my score is good enough to achieve that.
Several factors that contributed to my 2-3 week study time involved my research abroad over the summer, and breaking up with a significant other. However, this forum gave me the courage to continue and to approach the GMAT even though I had no desire to do so in the beginning of August. I ordered the MGMAT quant guides, did not go through the whole OG, but did all of the MGMAT tests and the Kaplan Premier book (and some Kaplan tests). I did not follow other advice that suggested to stay away from practice tests in the days before the exam. I also reviewed Powerscore CR before I took the test.
I am incredibly grateful for the 6.0 AWA guide, as it was very useful. Lastly, I feel that a large part of my strategy came from ideas on this forum, and I am very impressed with these posts.
I really do not want to retake, but am open to suggestions about this. Also, I want anyone else with a short study program to know that it is possible to break 700 without much studying

Congrats Rila for ur score and specially u made it in 2-3 weeks of study is cool...
i have read another story in this forum where a guy made it in 1 week of study to cross 750
What were scores in MGMAT tests and gmat prep?can u please post them?

congrats! Well 710 is a very nice score. I think whether you would retake depends on your target schools - if it is top 5 then maybe you should IF you felt you didnt give it all. Since you are a senior you have WE hurdle so your gpa and gmat might count more. There are also programs designed for out of college into mba schools like harvard 2+2 and others. once you find a target school then you can decide. But 710 is a pretty good score !
