My test is tomorrow at noon and I just took another MGMAT practice test and got another 640 (Q 42, V37). I have only been working on verbal for the past week, and that shows in my score.

Weird thing though, as I was taking the test, it felt so easy, and I was expecting a higher score. Usually when I am done with the practice tests (especially the GMAT prep) I feel like I did terrible. For my purposes, a 640 will certainly suffice. The Zicklin School of Business at Baruch in NYC is my #1 choice and their avg gmat score for part time students is 580. For Full time the average score is 640.

For the rest of the day, I am going to chill, eat, watch football, study my notes and review the questions I answered incorrectly.

Thanks for all of the encouragement. It is nice to see so many strangers so enthusiastic over my performance. Take care and good luck to all.

I just got back from my exam. Bombed it. Got a 570 (Q33, V35).

Now my issue is, I don't know if I should retake this exam. The application Deadline for Baruch is 10/31. The average gmat score for part time students is 580. Could the essay sway my score 10 points up? I feel like crawling under a rock right now.

Are you planning on applying PT or FT? If you're going for PT then I think you're fine. Ensure the rest of your app is in order and apply.

The essay won't change your Q and V scores.

im planning part time. On the baruch website, they say:

"Our most recent data shows that admitted students have total test scores in the mid-80% range of 510 to 710. The averages vary by program and competition. In addition to the total GMAT score we pay close attention to scores received in each section of the test."

Im worried because i did so poorly on the quant section.

i think im going to take it again on 10/30. what do you guys think? even if i got in with my prior score, i wouldnt be satisfied. i worked so hard and my expectation was 600+. Baruch says as long as they have the application before the deadline and i take the test by the deadline they will look at all my scores. I read on this message board that usually your scores dont go up the second time around, but i think i could do it, even though i dont know what other work i could do. i thought i did everything capable to get the grade. i didnt feel nervous during ther test really. i was pumped.
