congratulations – this is a great score, and I wouldn't try to retake it. This is at or above average for pretty much any school, and for top 10 GMAT often is a checkmark. You have an almost flawless quant score, and you would've done better on the verbal, have you had more rest. However, I don't want to tempt you :-)

Thank you very much for debrief!

When are you applying? that's the big question.

Look forward to more thoughts and lessons learned ;)

Very similar to my debrief :)

What kind of notes did you jot down toward the and of Math section?
I thought about making notes, but eventaully decided that they will not help us much... May be you would share with us some secret approach ? :)

Thanks guys for your wishes!

One of my app is due in next 10 days. I will be again stressed for time :) Good thing is, I just need to write one essay. Overall, I am thinking of applying to one year full time program. Currently, I am thinking of applying to couple of business schools in India and Insead. But still need lot more research to do. I will appreciate if you can provide some advice on 1 year executive programs in India and outside India.

Financier - I will send you my math error notes. These are simple pointers based upon the mistakes I was making on GMATCLUB Tests. I will type those and send to you. Those may help you. Again as I said, do not get obessesed with solving all the questions. Goal is to maximize the scoring with 37 questions. I also hate to make guesses, but needed to during practice and exam. I believe GMAT delibrately throws some time waster question/s at you. Another thing, I would not solve the whole DS. If I have good sense of what it will require to acheive a solution I will move on. It saved lot of time.

Question : Do you really feel gmatclub tests are necessary for quant? I am consistently scoring around 49.

On high end, for every 1 point variation in Q score is about 3-4 wrong question. For 49, you will be getting around 8-10 question wrong, right? GMAT club test can help you at least by 1 point. These tests gave me immense confidence in terms of pacing, guessing, plugging decimal, negative numbers etc. This helped me to finish most of the math exam with spare time. I was never too much worried about the timing on math with this training. Again, it depends upon how much time you have left for real GMAT exam and what is your target score.

I wish there was something similar for verbal. I could not find any good source to practice verbal in a controlled enviornment.

I practiced from OG10-12. Few Quick thoughts -

1. Also, when you are reading an article just try to put together 3-5 few main points as if you were to write a summay on this aticle.

2. If you have limited time, first read articles from an area where you feel uncomfortable. I have no intrest in science and history. I spent lot of time reading through those. After 3-4 weeks I was feeling comfortable with those while doing actual OG and could see better accuracy.

All the best!!

Congratulations! Great debrief.
Considering you performed so well in such an adverse condition, I would definitely look forward to your new score i.e. if you decide to retake. You will surely do better.
