Hello people,
Just took my GMAT yesterday.I decided to do so after the following scores on practice CATs:
Gmatprep1: 380 (without any practice, to check where i stand)
MGMAT 1 : 600
MGMAT 2 : 580
MGMAT 3 : 630
MGMAT 4 : 640
MGMAT 5 : 670
Gmatprep 2 : 640
GMAT : 560 (42Q/26V)
I was confident about my quant as i would get 45 on an average. i got an average of 32-33 on the verbal,which was my weak point.But i still thought I knew the matter.Come test day, I was calm.The AWA went decently with a minute to minute-and-a-half of rereading my essays.The quant was not tough and verbal also wasnt tough. But i took up a lot o time onboth the sections and eventually was forced to guess 3-5 questions on each section.The high number of guesses had shaken my confidence up and eventually i though ill cancel my score. I was so disappointed.But I still opted to get my score.I honestly was expecting around 460-480. I got a 560.After aiming for a 700+ and being beaten over by poor timing, I realised that I had to work on my timing.
Im going to retake the test in a month from now.I feel I know the study material decently.Ill surely work more on it.But the most important thing i feel i should work on is timing myself.Although I timed my practice every time, I still managed to mess up my timing on d-day !
Any suggestions?comments?

rb90 I believe it was just a bad day for you. Can you please tell which books and material you used for the preparation?
Try gmatclub tests for quant. and for verbal section used Manhattan SC guide.

I think guessing last 5 questions has the potential to reduce the score by 50 points. When you analyze GMAT prep this could become clear.
Both speed and accuracy are needed to increase your score. What are the study materials did you use ? Did you spend enough time reviewing your tests ?

This would surely help. For CR, powerscore bible is excellent. Don't leave out RC if that is your weak link. Good luck with your prep.
