Hello..
I have got roughly 3 weeks to go for my third and absolutely final shot at GMAT. The first two attempts at GMAT in summer 2008 returned 600 (Q45, V28) and 650 (Q47, V33) respectively. I thought I will seek some advice from the forum members regarding some prep strategy for the final 3 weeks.
I have spent most of my preparation time from the last 1.5 months studying from
MGMAT series quant books,
MGMAT SC, powerscore CR bible and OG12. I have meticulously taken notes of important concepts/tricks/rules etc which I can refer to during my travel to and from work. I have also been making sure that I analyze each and every problem that I solve and have generally spent double the time reviewing them. I have so far solved about 80% of OG12 with the hit rate of close to 88% although I know "hit rate" is a deceptive term to use.
These are the results from the practice cats that I have taken so far:
MGMAT CAT1: 680 (Q46, V36)
MGMAT CAT2: 690 (Q46, V38)
MGMAT CAT3: 680 (Q44, V38)
GMATPrep1 with AWA: 710 (Q49, V39)
Have also done 4 of the
GMAT club tests.
Now with 3 weeks to go before the test, I am left with 150 odd questions from OG12 and the all of quant and verbal review books.
Between now and the test day, I hope to complete the OG12, quant and verbal reviews, take GMATPrep 3-4 more times and write 2 more
MGMAT tests. I was really keen on doing some more
gmatclub tests but looks like I might not have any time left to do anything other than OGs. Although, I have the luxury of taking the week before the test off from work..
Do you guys think I should perhaps only focus on last 70-80 odd questions only from the quant review book and practice quant more using
gmatclub tests? I definitely plan to solve all the questions from verbal review.
Any more hints or tips will be greatly appreciated. I plan to apply to mainly british/european schools and hence looking for a score in the region of 700. Of course, more the merrier!!
Thanks,
mandhan
