i took my first official gmat a month ago got a 680 (Q46/V35), i was dissapointed. My practice scores on verbal of
mgmat or the gmat prep have never been below 38 EVER.
mgmat scores - 680, 690, 710, 730, 720
so i brushed it off as a bad day, retook yesterday. 660(Q47/V35), needless to say i'm devastated. AND EVEN WORSE is the fact that I tried to save a few pennies and actually sent the score report, so the schools will see the lower score now too. UGHHH!
I had planned to applied to 4 schools first round (all top 10-15 schools). I have a low gpa (3.1), from a top engineering college in the US. Given that I'm Asian and work in consulting, do I even have a shot, I keep on hearing that GMAT is just one component, but I can't help but think that my chances aren't good given my demographic, and the fact that i'm not improving the school's numbers in any way. (low gpa and gmat)
What would you do if u were me? Retake and apply in later rounds? or apply in the first round as it is?
