Well, here I am again.
I initially wrote the GMAT around mid-December and scored a miserable 510 (Q36, V24) and was totally decimated by the experience and the score. My applications were all submitted to the schools of my choice and all were just waiting for my GMAT score. Rather than giving up (and trust me the thought had crossed my mind several times), I managed to get myself together. After all, I knew the score was much lower than my potential. The only thing that worked out in that exam is the AWA where I scored a 6.0.
I re-did the exam a little over a month later and scored 570 (Q42, V27). I was shooting for a 600. Overall I am happy with the quant score but disappointed with the verbal score. I did GMAT Prep 1 and 2 earlier in the week and scored 530 (Q42, V20) and 560 (Q39, V28). I figured I could get a Q42 but V30-31 is roughly what I needed to get a 600 and I scored a V27. The thing that bothers me the most is that I improved my timing on my last GMAT Prep 2 that I did 2 days prior to the exam and I knew this would be crucial for both sections. Although my timing was good for quant, I was rushed for verbal for the last 3-4 questions (blind guesses on 3 of those if I remember correctly). I think it's too bad because I could have had higher than a V27. It may not have been a V30-31, but at least closer (V28-V29...).
The good news is I sent in my score to the schools. I am within the 80% GMAT score range for some of them. For others (especially my school of 1st choice), I am 10-20 points below the 80% range of GMAT scores for the most recent class. Another piece of good news is that I am a strong candidate (strong undergraduate GPA, valuable work experience, excellent letters of reference and at good essays). I also hold 2 professional designations that not many applicants can state they have. So, other than the GMAT score, I believe I am an above average candidate in all other aspects.
Now is the waiting game. I may get called for interviews, I may not. After that, I may either get 0 offers or 1 offer. I don't know what is going to happen.
I ask the gmatclub community for some advice. Depending on what happens, I may decide to tackle the GMAT again. I obviously need to improve my verbal score into the low to mid 30s if I do.

If your post is any indicator of your skills, you seem to be good in english. Could you specify which of the 3 sections you exactly face(d) the problem in?

English is my first language. I am assuming you mean which sections I had problems in the verbal section. I believe there are 2 things that contribute to my V27 score: SC correction (do not know all the rules) and taking too much time on RC. I thought I had done enough work to improve my verbal score but a 3 point increase from V24 to V27 does not really display that.
I hate the waiting game. I guess I am a naturally impatient person. I know how I am and I know if these schools do not work out I will likely give this GMAT another shot.
