You made some interesting observations. Yes, reading comprehension should be approached as a polite conversation going on.
By increasing reading speed, I did not mean to rush through the passage. Basically, it means that one should read a lot on computer and try to read advanced english passages in sites such as aldaily.com etc. More one reads, more one gets comfortable with reading unknown and abstract material. It will increase the focus and that can make all the difference.

Thanks for your post.
When you talk about structured preparation, my assumption is that you have a disciplined approach toward study schedule. If you don't mind, would you like to share with what kind of schedule you had followed. Since I am working, I can devote 2 hours on weekdays and around 8 hours on weekends. Are they good enough?
Well, this time I will complete each and every CAT on all the CDs I have and thereafter i will book my G-date.

Hjort, thank you for your critical analysis...LOL. I liked your approach. I am a regular reader of not only news on the internet but also articles of my interest. The concept of "polite conversation" interest me. As it fits with my psyche of reading over a RC. Since I know RC was the main problematic area in my last GMAT,I would do my best to nail it down before going for Real GMAT.

Which of the books are good for RC section?

Thanks once again to both of you for the inputs.

Yes , this time I did try to follow a structured preparation schedule and followed it reasonably well, if not very religously.

I started doing sentence correction questions from 885 and OG and tried to understand very minutely my errors. I started doing bit of lsat CR questions, but very soon I realized that they are bit offmark..I read the maths overview from both OG and kaplan..although I knew most of the things, still i went through it very seriously.. I started practicising maths from the advanced maths section of this site..
Everyday, I tried to read for half an hour from websites such as https://www.aldaily.com, https://www.nytimes.com etc.
After 20-25 days of doing it, I took my first princeton CAT..
After that I finished 885 questions and moved on to do CR,SC AND RC questions from gmat+..
I used to make notes of new stuff learnt , particularly in SC and maths.
I then took some of the cat's from princeton and 800..
After that I got hold of vstudy and did some questions of each section from there...
I also took all the four kaplan tests..
I tried to do maths practice from questions in this site for half an hour everyday .. I was not very regular and disciplined in that though..but still kept telling myself that more I practice, more it will be good for me..
You will see that if you practice a lot of RC questions and read a lot, your timing will improve..
One thing more..time to do the things according to your daily lifestyle routine. for instance, I cant wake up early in the morning.. but can work late in night. Now, doing maths questions or full lenghth cat's in the night is not a good idea.. so what i used to do was that I did maths when i was very fresh and in the night generally did SC questions and some reading from the net.. So, you see you have to be careful in dividing your time..
Rest, you have to analyze your own strenghts and weaknesses and customize the schedule for yourself accordingly..
Yes, 2-3 hours everyday and 8 hours during the weekend should be fine..
Main thing is once you plan out your scheule, stick to it,discipline yourself and dont give up..There will be times when you will feel sick of doing same kind of questions again and again..but hang on..
Good luck..
