Just yesterday I completed my GMAT with 680 , this is an huge score for me with my poor basic english background.
I scored 50 in Math which is really good. I got just one Probability question which is really good . I thought I will be able to do math in less than an hour, but computer seems to be smarter than me, it knows where to sqeeze my time
In English, i was doing decently and managing time properly. When I had 10 more questions and 19 more minutes to go, I got this huge big ass RC, which is like double the length of other RC's I have attempted and it had 5 questions. This has devastated me and brought down my verbal score to 32. I hated ETS sooooo much in those last minutes .
Well regarding preparation:
I started preparing about a month ago. I was following this website for some fundamentals in math and verbal. which were really really useful. Then I read OG end to end fortunately, especially verbal is really really good. I practiced about 4 computerized tests of princeton, well those are what I could get from my friends.
And the most important thing I want to tell you guys is, how important a role the habbit of blogging has played in this test. Just one year back, It was unimaginable for me even to think about crossing 550 and admission into ivy league business schools always seemed to be a pipe dream, now within a months preparation along with my hectic office schedules I got 680. You want to know the secret, its the habbit of blogging. Fortunately I took up blogging and that helped me a lot in increasing my reading and comprehending abilities. Blogging basically pushed me to read lots and lots of material on various subjects. I have setup a community blog
https://www.mbadream.com, if anybody wants to register and blog there they are welcome to do that or setup your own blog and blog diligently. Believe me, BLOGGING WORKS in increasing your brains scope of reading and comprehending, which ultimately helps in all parts of the test.
One more thing, I am going to come up with a book which will help a lot in increasing you reading abilities. It is like 'Increase Your Reading Speeds for Idiots'. I am sure that will help lot of people out there.
Cheers and good luck to all you amazing guys and thanks for helping me out.
