I have been a regular GMATCLUB visitor and i find this place a must visit for any GMAT aspirant.
Today i am here to share my experience and to look for answers to some of the questions that are troubling me.
My CASE
I started my preparation some six months back in Aug'11 , below herewith are the materials used,
a) OG 12
b) MGMAT books
c) All the online freebies on GMAT CLUB and otherwise available on the net
The Preparation Plan
August, Sept - Studied the MGMAT books througly to grasp and soak the basics of Quant and Verbal. Finished the MGMAT material.
Oct'11 - Completed the OG12 in fifteen sessions of timed sets. Typically one set would have 15- PS questions, 12 - DS questions , 8- CR questions, 9 - SC questions and 2 passages (i used the OG-10 passages for the last two sets). The time allowed to complete the quant part would typically be no. of questions times 2 minutes and for verbal it was no of questions times 1.8 minutes.
Nov'11 till the GMAT day - I revised the SC and other notes that i prepared from the MGMAT atleast once a weak besides writing the computer based GMAT, available on the net for free, under strick testing conditions, below herewith are the scores of the same,

My strategy was to write the exam under the strick testing conditions which included the essays and the breaks and then reviewing and analysising the test. Working on the weak areas, like RC, SC etc on different forums in GMAT Club.
I work full time for an Agri and Agri Commodity giant and I am based in an African Country. I scheduled my GMAT appointment for 16th Jan 2012 and the nearest testing center was some 600 kms from my place of posting. My exam got rescheduled as the testing center was undergoing the annual maintainance by Pearsons and they could start conducting GMAT only after the 30th of Jan, hence I resheduled an appointment for 1st Feb 2012. As advised in different forums on the GMATClub, I visited the venue a day before the exam and got to know the place well before the D day. Slept early that day and slept well.
My appointment was for 9.30 am, I reach the center half an hour early to avoid unnesscary stress. On my arrival at the center, the proctor told me that the center is experencing some techincal difficulty and will delay the exam for some hours. My exam started at 11.30 am.
The essays went well, i finshed each essay well before the time and double checked for the spelling mistake (i make a lot of them). Took the break, had one energy bar and red bull during the break (i did the same during the mock tests also) and was ready for the quant section. The very first question had the typical GMAT trick of comaflaging the right answer among the simmilar looking wrong answers, i did not fall for it. Finished the exam within the time limits and was happy with the performance. Verbal also went just fine, i did not find the exam very different from the one they have in GMAT Prep. Was satisfied with the performance in both the sections. And then the score appeared on the screen and i was shell shocked, it was Q43 V25, 570.
I was actually stumped and lost. Anyways i gathered myself, took the unofficial score and put myself in the car for the journey back home. All the way i was trying to figure out what went wrong and frankly speaking i have no answers and thats why i am here.
The possible reasons one could think of,
a) I was highly stressed because of the long road journey a day before and because of the exam starting late - I would be wrong if i say i was not stressed but it was not because of the long trip or the exam starting late, it was the normal stress one experience before any such important events. Besides i have been handling these kinds of stress since i was 10 years old, i am a alumus of a prestigious public boarding school, which admits students on the basis of a national exam and interview. I am also a Post Graduate from A+ Management Institute in India, so i know how to deal with stress.
b) Did i panic during the exam - I was careful to not exceed the time limit for each question and did make a few educated guess to same time, but i dont think i panicked.
I am seriously out of options, at the end of the day, I own the score and to be sure that I dont come across such score again, I need to know what possibily got wrong.
Would love to hear from others ( I gave all the details ie mock test scores, just in case somebody could find a pattern or something that i missed)

Firstly, I think going by your detailed prep scores, you should have scored between 650-680.
Clearly, verbal was your undoing.
Yes, quant got hit a touch, but verbal really brought you down.
When I go through your long list of scores, I see that though your verbal scores towards the end had improved, they have been literally all over the place - and biased towards the lower side.
I would say you should focus on verbals.
Also, don't do too many different courses - drop Barron's, Princeton etc entirely.
Some tips on verbal preps:
Go through the Brutal SC, CR documents and SC and CR guides by whiplash, Gayathri and Spidey, that you can download here: download.php
I would advise you to go through the GMATClub SC, CR and RC and PS, DS discussion threads, which are broken down into 700-level questions and 600-level questions. You can find these links here: viewforumtags.php
Also, please go to whiplash's profile and download all the verbal documents you'll find in her signature.
I would suggest that you enroll for the free sessions of e-GMAT and then opt for the course if it helps. It's reasonably priced and is a good fit for non native English speakers.
Take your time and work hard on verbal - once you feel confident, take the GMAT again.
Don't drop your quant preps though - devote 20% time to quant and 80% to verbals.
